COVID-19 Statement for applicants and existing grantees

Last updated: 27 March 2020

Urgent grants

Therium Access is committed to supporting the advice sector during these challenging and uncertain times, and we are in the process of establishing the best way forward for us to respond to requests for urgent funding as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. We will publish further information on our website and LinkedIn profile as soon as possible.

New applications

The deadline for our upcoming grant round is 30 April 2020.

Project funding:

Please do your best to describe how you anticipate your organisation will conduct your work within the Application Form, both during these times of restrictions and during happier and healthier times. You may use the space within Section 7.d. to provide us with further detail if needed.

We recognise that this is an uncertain and constantly evolving period and would therefore encourage organisations to apply for core funding rather than restricted funding for specific projects as it may be difficult to express in detail the exact delivery models and projected outcomes for such work within the Application Form.

If you have issues with providing:

  • The supporting documents requested, please tick the list of documents that exist within Section 8.a. and state that you will provide them on request when you are able to access them within Section 8.b.; and/or
  • Signatures, please ask your signatory or referee to copy the content of Sections 9 and/or 10 (i.e. including the exact wording of the Statement of Truth) into the body of an email from them which shows their official email address and email footer. Kindly send this to us with the Application Form itself.

Case funding:

Please describe how your firm will conduct your work within Section 6.c., both during times of restrictions and during happier and healthier times.

If you have issues with providing signatures, please ask your signatory to copy the content of Section 7 (i.e. including the exact wording of the Statement of Truth) into the body of an email from them which shows their official email address and email footer. Kindly send this to us with the Application Form itself.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or issues.

Existing grantees

We are aware that COVID-19 is likely to have a significant impact on many if not all of our grantees.

To support you through this difficult and uncertain time, we are prepared to be as flexible as possible in relation to how your work is delivered, changes to the budget and the delivery of outcomes.

As you will be aware, reporting for all grantees is due by 31st March. Please let us know if you have any issues with submitting your reports by this date. In your response, kindly ensure that you briefly explain your organisation’s most current response to COVID-19 (either within the form itself or in an accompanying email) and describe any changes to how you are working. It may be necessary for us to vary the terms of our agreement in light of such changes, which we will endeavour to do where appropriate in the simplest way for us all.

Therium Access will vary the contractual condition under our Project Grant Agreements which prohibits the use of our grant to pay for staff sick pay where we are paying for a specific member of staff and that staff member is unable to work due to an actual or suspected case of COVID-19. Where the Government furlough scheme is available, recipients are required to apply for this and Therium Access would permit the grant funds to be used in respect of any difference in the salary of a staff member covered by our grant until 30 June 2020 (subject to a possible extension). Where Government support is not available, Therium Access will permit the grant funds to be used to provide sick pay for a staff member covered by our grant until 30 June 2020 (subject to a possible extension).

As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.

Therium Access is also a signatory to the London Funders statement on COVID-19 which can be found here.
